Somatic Experiencing (SE), is a naturalistic mind-body technique for those who are interested in regulating physical and psychological distress through careful attention to the body’s sensations. This approach has been very successful in supporting individuals in healing from traumatic events that occur in life and activation that is generated in the body from daily stress. Generally speaking, the approach helps to rid the body stress that causes physical and emotional pain. It provides an outlet to re-balance a person’s nervous system when they are feeling overwhelmed and also under-whelmed. I have found that most client’s find this technique to be very helpful and enjoy the results of being more attuned to the body and its resiliency.
